Bill Graham, the interim leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, occasionally takes his morning java in the coffeehouse beneath my day job offices (located a short walk from Parliament Hill). One day I strode in for my own coffee and Graham looked up from his newspaper, fixing me with a prolonged glare that said: "Don't come too close—I'm Bill Graham."

Graham has been spitting mad lately while lambasting Stephen Harper and his cronies during Question Time in the House. Perhaps that explains what I witnessed this morning while approaching the entrance to my office.
Graham emerged from said coffeehouse, brew in hand, and just before climbing into the passenger seat of a waiting black SUV, the honourable Leader of the Oppostion paused briefly to unleash an executive-sized gob of saliva that rocketed towards the sidewalk with startling efficiency.
Graham is fierce—passionate even—but it seems he's no Pierre Trudeau.
